Caernarfon, 2023– Dragon Karate Cymru proudly celebrated the completion of its Annual Shito-Ryu Sukokai Karate Seminar, a two-day event that drew karate practitioners from across the globe to the picturesque town of Caernarfon. Held on 29th and 30th of June, 2023, the seminar was a resounding success, offering attendees a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with renowned instructors.
The highlight of the seminar was the presence of Grand Master Masataka Ohshita M.A.Ed, Soke, 10th Dan (Japan).
Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in a diverse range of activities, including workshops, demonstrations, and interactive sessions. Attendees had the privilege of learning not only from Soke Mr. Masataka Ohshita Sensei but also from other distinguished instructors, including Dr. Thomas Hausner 8th Dan (Austria), Chris Mileham 8th Dan (England), Ian Barlow 8th Dan (Australia), and Thomas Geiger 7th Dan (Germany).
It was the greatest honour of my Karate career to be Graded 6th Dan by Grand Master Masataka Ohshita M.A.Ed, Soke, 10th Dan (Japan), Dr Thomas Hausner 8th Dan (Austria), Chris Mileham 8th Dan (England), Ian Barlow 8th Dan (Australia), and Thomas Geiger 7th Dan (Germany). We are so grateful they visited us in Wales and we had the opportunity to be tough by these karate Masters of our style. I want to thank God for giving me strength and keeping me sane through my training, my wife Sensei Alison for being my partner in the grading and all the Dragon Karate Cymru members. You are the reason I keep training, improving 🙏❤️
The event not only provided a platform for intensive training but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared passion among participants. Attendees had the opportunity to forge lasting connections with fellow karateka from different corners of the world, celebrating the global reach of Shito-Ryu Sukokai Karate.
